High temperature resistant fabric is woven from "E" glass fibers or high silica cloth and coated with a vermiculite based film to provide extended use temperatures up to 1500°F.

Vermiculite is a natural mica hydrated magnesium aluminum silicate product that is asbestos free and 100% inorganic. Tiny disc-shaped flakes overlap within the vermiculite film. These flakes are embedded within the fiber bundles of the fabric. These flakes coat the surface of the fabric creating a thermal film that effectively blocks out the barrier/heat.
